Yue Fei

Yue Fei was a general in ancient China.  At the time, China was in conflict and the country was divided.  Yue Fei deliberately had a tattoo with a missing brush stroke in the character for country (​國) to symbolize an "incomplete" country.  Unfortunately, he was never able to unify the country.

My dad and I walked down this valley for about three hours talking about everything from modern Chinese history to ​all the things he was interested in growing up in Taiwan.

Hands down one of the most beautiful places in the world.  The water has a high concentration of calcium so the trees that fall into the lakes become calcified/preserved.​

The city is probably one of the greenest ones in Chin and all the parks were amazing here.

The Dalai Lamas are all placed in this palace.  it is surreal to walk through a place with so much history.  That palace itself is 700 years old, which is nothing compared to the 1300 year old Jokhang Temple.​

This is the most important and spiritual place in Tibetan Buddhism.  The interior is scented with ancient candles and incense.​
